The close freezes the Z-report as the immutable record with the closer's name on it.
- 1Settle what you can: open tabs, the undecided queue, the drawer count, the terminal batch.
- 2Tap the button. With tabs still open it reads Close with 3 still open? Tap to admit it; with undecided tabs, …and 1 undecided from before? Its own tap. Each admission is a deliberate tap and goes on the record.
- 3When it reads Close the day, tap it and sign with a PIN carrying reports permission.
The screen shows ✓ Day closed with the time and the name. Closing again reads Close again — replaces the record.
The same moment, the Z-report is emailed to the owner's address on the account, and the status line says so:

The email carries the close screen's numbers in order, and the sentences that matter: a card-terminal variance, tips not yet released, tabs still open, gift cards outstanding. No address on the account, no email; the record is the same either way.
